It has been said that Tokachigawa Hot Spring first gushed into the wetland where reed used to grow in abundance, and that marshes dotting the area never froze, not even during the harsh winters, and were visited by horses and other animals looking to heal their wounds.
In 1900, Kihei Ema created an approximately one-square-meter open-air bath and used it together with his neighbors by heating the warm naturally flowing water.
This is believed to be the beginning of Tokachigawa Hot Spring.
Later, as the Meiji era was coming to a close, it was used as a therapeutic bath. The springhead was dug deep and a hot spring inn was built in 1913.
In those days, it was called "Sasai Hot Spring" and the inn became the predecessor of the current Sasai Hotel. |

It is our hope that we will continue to be considered sincerely hospitable by our guests as our top priority and have a good track record.
We, the staff of Sasai Hotel, look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our hotel. |
